The design of Head to Health Ipswich aims to create a centre for the provision of mental health care, psychosocial services and situational support to the community that is both welcoming and relatable to enable occupants to feel welcome, safe, at ease and supported.

This is addressed through the layout –  the flow of the space and legible arrangement of areas to support the functionality and the flow of the centre and optimise the natural light through the full height windows along the building perimeter; the aesthetics  – the use of natural looking materials, warm and earthy tones and important elements such as plants, feature lighting, First Nations art work and soft furnishings to create a welcoming yet functional space that people can connect with and promotes wellness; and the aspirational goal to improve lives through the provision of services and the creation of a community to support the mental health and well-being of the users of the centre. Group spaces can be linked to encourage increased interaction and set up to have the ability to be converted into single use or multi purpose area.
