Medicare Mental Health Centre Sunshine Coast was delivered in partnership with Wellways to provide accessible mental health support to the broader Sunshine Coast community. The design was shaped by insights from community engagement workshops, ensuring the space reflected the region’s diverse geography—from Noosa’s coastlines to the hinterlands of Gympie and Nambour. A calming coastal palette, complemented by subtle hinterland tones, was chosen to foster a sense of ease and belonging.

The interior moves away from the sterile feel of traditional clinical settings, offering a calm and welcoming environment. Visitors are greeted by an open-plan waiting area and community kitchen, where a gently trickling water feature sets a tranquil tone. The centre includes 10 multi-purpose consultation rooms, thoughtfully designed to support neurodiverse individuals, families, and one-on-one care. A dedicated staff hub with quiet workspaces, meeting rooms, and a kitchen enables Wellways to operate efficiently on site.
