Located in the heart of regional NSW, Medicare Mental Health Centre Dubbo extends Base Design and Construct’s relationship with Stride, delivering a warm and inclusive facility that reflects both the local community and the natural landscape. The design embraces a relaxed, country-style aesthetic using earthy tones, organic forms, and natural textures inspired by the region’s rolling hills and rural charm.
The fit-out spans two levels and includes 14 consultation rooms, two quiet rooms, a sensory room, a group room, family spaces, and a dedicated GP treatment suite. A community kitchen, casual lounge, and curated furnishings offer comfort and choice, while feature lighting, acoustic panels, and local Indigenous artwork provide tactile and visual interest. Every detail is oriented toward comfort, clarity, and calmness-especially for neurodiverse users and those in crisis.
A thoughtfully designed upper level includes a staff work hub, breakout areas, private offices, and meeting spaces. The adaptive reuse of the existing structure supports a sustainable outcome, while design strategies such as natural daylight access, zoned wayfinding, and biophilic elements promote wellbeing and ease of use throughout.
