We were proud to support the Stride Outside fundraising challenge in September 2024 and continue to stand behind Stride Mental Health and their incredible work.
Recent statistics reveal that 8.5 million Australians—43% of the population—have experienced a mental illness at some point in their lives. Research consistently highlights the critical role of outdoor activities in enhancing mental health, offering benefits such as stress reduction, mood improvement, increased creativity, and better cognitive function. These benefits also extend into the workplace, where improved mental health leads to higher productivity, reduced absenteeism, and a stronger, more positive work environment.
Ben Hannon, Managing Director at Base, shares why this initiative is so important:
“When the Stride Outside concept first landed on my desk, I was excited to get involved. We’ve partnered with Stride for over four years now, and we truly value the incredible work they do in the mental health space. Looking after the mental wellbeing of our employees is a top priority in our industry. There are many safety risks in what we do, and ensuring our team’s wellbeing is key to keeping them safe and delivering our best work.”
Our commitment to mental health has not gone unnoticed. Stride Mental Health shared their appreciation for our ongoing support:
“Big thanks to @basedesignandconstruct for being our Stride Outside Sponsor and Champion Supporter! They’re building more than just spaces; they’re creating a supportive workplace. Let’s stride together for mental health.”
At Base, we believe in active community involvement and meaningful partnerships. Stride’s mission to support mental health aligns closely with our commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and healthy workplace.
